The Nursing Science Student Association (NSSA) at UCI was founded in 2007 by students of the inaugural Nursing Science cohort. The club was created to supplement the new major and to help its students not only to utilize their resources to the fullest  extent, but also to connect with each other and to participate in the community through volunteering and legislative activities as appropriate.

Today, we welcome all UCI students interested in pursuing or learning more about Nursing. NSSA at UCI has become a place where membership is diverse, with students from all majors who share one common interest– the art and science of Nursing.

Members of NSSA at UCI also comprise the UC Irvine Chapter of the California Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA) as well as the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). Through the CNSA and NSNA, the club has access to national and statewide nursing conventions, RN Lobby Days, scholarships, volunteer and career opportunities, as well as awareness of the professional aspect of nursing (economic, social, political). We encourage members to join the NSNA to learn about nursing in a different perspective. A minimum amount of NSNA members in our UCI club is required in order to maintain our UCI chapter. Membership to the NSNA is made official by registering online at the NSNA website.

NSSA at UCI is completely student-led and registered as an official UC Irvine Campus Organization. To learn more about the UC Irvine Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing, please visit nursing.uci.edu
